Food logging, or recording what you eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks helps you maintain a visual record of your food choices throughout the day, and helps Good Measures make personalized suggestions about ways to improve your GMI with Meal Suggestions, portion modifications, and New Foods to Try. Our Suggestions are based on what you log, so it's best to be as careful as possible when selecting foods and portion sizes. If you make a mistake, you can easily change the portion size of the food, or simply delete it from the Log page.

Enter the name of the food into the Find Food search box belonging to the meal in which you ate the food.
Click the Find button.
You will then be able to see the Find Food Results screen. To filter search results by brand, click a brand tag from the right side of the screen.
Good Measures Tip: Commercial brands are only required to report those nutrients that are listed in the Nutrition Facts panel on the back of packaged foods. You will have a better picture of your nutrient intake if when making a selection from the Find Food Results, you choose an "unbranded" food. Usually these unbranded foods have more complete nutrition information reported. You can filter your results by "unbranded" by clicking on the Unbranded tag to the right of the Find Food Results.
Choose the food that most closely resembles what you ate or drank by selecting it in the search results.
Select the serving unit and type in the amount that you ate or drank:
You can use the dropdown menu of measurements to select a serving unit. (For example, if you had miniature marshmallows instead of regular marshmallows in your hot cocoa.)
Once you've selected the amount you ate or drank, click the Log button to add the food to your log.
The food will then be entered into your log.
To enter the time when you had a meal or snack, click the Time box.
Select a time from the drop-down list, or type the hour and minute plus "a" or "p" to quickly find a time in the list.
You can delete foods you've logged from the Log page in two ways:
1. Click on the trash can icon to the right of the food you want to delete.
2. Confirm that you want to delete the food.
1. Check the boxes to the left of the foods that you want to delete.
2. Select "delete" from the drop-down menu above the check boxes. (Click on the dark gray triangle to see the dropdown menu.)
3. Confirm that you want to delete the food.
