There are a few reasons to log your exercise. The first is to keep a record of your progress towards particular goals related to exercise, or to keep track of the days that you do a specific type of exercise. The second is to account for the calories that you burn from doing exercise.

Type the exercise you did into the Find Exercise Box, and click Find.
Select the type of exercise from the search results that most closely resembles what you did.
Enter in the number of minutes, or the calories burned, from doing the exercise you’ve selected. Then click the Log button.
The exercise will appear in your Exercise Log, where you can add the time of day, and edit the minutes or calories.
If you happen to know the total number of calories you burned during exercise, for example from a machine at the gym, you may enter the calories directly.
Click the Log Exercise Calories button.
Enter the number of calories from exercise, then name the exercise if you wish. Click the Log button to record your exercise calories.
