Any foods that you would normally eat or drink together, (e.g., coffee with cream, or pancakes and maple syrup) are what we call a Combination. Combinations make it easy for you to log your foods, and make it possible for the GMI Engine to make Meal Suggestions for you based on how you actually eat.
Your Combinations are private and will not be seen by other Good Measures members, unless you choose to share them. (Read more about our Social features, including sharing foods and combinations with other Good Measures members.)
To learn more about how to manage your Combinations in My Foods, click here.
First, add the foods you want to combine to your log. (Read more about logging food.)
Check the boxes to the left of the foods you want to combine.
Click the arrow above the checked boxes and select Combine from the drop-down menu that appears.
Enter a name for your Combination and then click the Create & Add To Log button.
Once a Combination has been saved and added to the log, a green Combination icon will appear to the left of its name.
To edit a combination, click the Combination icon to the left of the combination name in the Log.
The Combination Details window will open where you can make changes to your combination. You can:
Edit the combination name
Add a brand name
Add a serving size name (e.g., 'sandwich', 'bowl')
Add or remove ingredients
Edit the quantity and serving unit for each ingredient
Choose tags for your combinations (e.g., beverage, condiment, supplement)
Click the Update button to save and return to the logging screen.
Click on the combination icon to the left of the combination in your log.
Click the Uncombine button.
The combination ingredients will appear in your log. The original combination still exists in My Foods and can be logged again at another meal.
From here, you can easily edit serving amounts, add or remove foods, and create a new combination. For example, if you had amounts of granola and yogurt and wanted to create a new combination, or the same granola and yogurt with berries on top.
