Two or more Good Measures members can form a Household in order to share GMIs. Sharing GMIs means that your household members can view each other's GMIs in the Households section of Social. Many members find this motivating as Households provide a forum for both support and accountability towards reaching nutrition and wellness goals.
Household members have the option to browse and log each other's foods and see each other's Combinations, Recipes, and Created Foods in their search results when logging on the Log page.
Each Household member can select the amount of his or her information to share, including the ability to browse and log each other's recent meals, or log for one another.
You can have many friends on the system, but may only belong to one household. Roommates, families, partners, or spouses that share the same foods and meals might consider creating a Household to make logging and keeping track of foods easier. If you only want to share select foods, Friends is a better option.
Select Household from the Social drop-down menu on the home page.
Name your household and click the create button.
(Note: You may only belong to one Household at at time. To Create another Household, you must first Leave or Dissolve the Household that you are in.)
Invite people to join your household by entering their email addresses and clicking the Invite button.
An email invitation and platform notification will be sent to the invitee. Once you are invited to a household, you may click either Accept to join the household or No Thanks to decline. If you do accept the invitation to join the household, you will have access to each household member's foods, GMI score, and the ability to log his or her foods. In turn, each household member will have the same capabilities with your information.
Permissions allow you to choose if another member can log foods for you, and if you want to review that food before it is added to your log. You may also choose whether you want another member to see your recently logged meals. If you are in a Household with multiple members, you may give different permissions to each member.
If you have created the Household you will be able to change the permissions you grant to each member after they accept your invitation to join the Household.
Household members share all of their Combinations, Recipes, and Created Foods. These foods can be searched for in the Find Food area of the Log screen.
If your household member creates a recipe, you will be able to view it in your Find Food results. Combinations, Recipes and Created Foods from your household members appear in your Find Food results with a pink background.
When you log a Household member's food, it appears in your Log page in the same way your own foods do.
However, Combinations, Recipes, and Created Foods that belong to another Household member appear in your My Foods section only in your Foods Logged tab, and not in your own tabs for Combinations, Recipes or Created Foods.
This is because only the member who created the food can make edits to the food or delete it from the system. This avoids confusion with duplicate versions of the same food among members who share foods.
Another way to log a Household member's food to your own Log is from the Household page. Instead of searching for foods in Log, you can browse them as you would in My Foods.
Browse a Household Member's Food
To browse and log the food of another Household member, go to the Household page in Social, and click on that member's name.
Log a Household Member's Food to Your Log
To log another household member's food to your log, find the Combination, Recipe, or Created Food you would like to add to your own log, and click the Log button. If your Household Member has given you permission to see his or her food logs, you may log an entire meal the member has already logged from the Recent Meals tab (you can adjust portion sizes on the Log page).
Choose the amount of the food you ate and the meal and date in which you ate the food. Then click the Log button.
If a household member has given you permission to log for him or her, you can do so from your log page. Select the food items you would like to record to his or her log. Then, choose Log for Household from the drop-down menu above the check boxes.
Next, specify the serving size of the food that he or she ate as well as the meal and date the food should be logged to. Then, click the Log button.
If the Household member you are logging for had the "please let me confirm" permission checked, then the food will not be logged until he or she confirms it. He or she will receive an email and a notification on Log. For more information on accepting foods logged for you by a Household member, see below: Accept Food from a Household Member.
If you have the Please Let Me Confirm permission checked, you will be allowed to review the food that another household member logs for you before it is recorded in your log. (If you do not have this permissions set, then food can be logged for you without your review.)
When food is sent to you, you will receive a notification on the platform above the Log menu, and by email. Click the notification to view the Servings Sent to You Screen.
Choose to Accept the food (or not). Remember, you can make edits to portion sizes in your log. Then, click the Confirm button to accept the food in your Log.
